Museum of Victorio Macho
In the Museum Victorio Macho you can see a large part of the collection bequeathed by the sculptor, especially sculptures such as "The Mother", "Brother Marcelo", "Gyspy Torso", "the Mask", "the Basque Child"; portraits of well-known people like Marañón, Unamuno, Cajal, Galdós, "the Passion Floer" and sketches of the large monuments that he executed in Spain and America. As well as numerous drawings featuring a series of country labourers, female nudes and self-portraits.
In the restores architectural complex in Roca Tarpeya there are also temporary exhibition rooms, various cultural events, work meetings, courses and conference services on offer, like the "Documentation Centre", dedicated to subject matter from Toledo and projections of an audiovisual programme about the city of Toledo and its history.
At an outstanding location on a craggy headland above the Tajo "Roca Tarpeya" can be found, a place chosen by the sculptor Victorio Macho to build his house and workshop in 1953.
Today it houses the headquarters of the Royal Foundation of Toledo that is responsible for the aims of the Victorio Macho Foundation, which the sculptor established.
