Hermitage of San Eugenio

Located at the entrance to the city coming from Madrid, on the right. It has only one nave and there only remains one apse from its original Mudejar structure, showing a traditional stone skirting board and blind brick arcades.

It was founded by Alfonso VII, when he managed to bring the relics back from France of the bishop from Toledo during the Visigoth age who was the patron saint of the archdiocese. Because it had different later business and storage uses it has undergone many additional renovations. However, 1992 it was declared a Place of Cultural Interest after its restoration.
